The Florida Resource Center for Women (FRCWC) and Children Hands Project is a school and community based education and prevention program that teaches Palm Beach County children, ages 3 – 12, non-violent conflict resolution. The Safe Nights Program provides emergency relocation and shelter assistance program for a victim of abuse or violence. A $45 donation provides one night of shelter for a woman or family in crisis at a participating Palm Beach County lodging facility. The Victim’s Advocacy program provides an independent advocate for victims seeking legal remedies. This includes accompanying victims to court, assisting with the preparation of victim impact statements, making referrals to appropriate community resources , providing information about the criminal justice system, serving as a liaison between victims, law enforcement, the prosecuting attorney’s office, the criminal justice system and community resources, assisting victims with crime compensation forms, explaining to survivors their rights afforded to them under Florida law and notifying victims of hearing dates and case status.
